What do you love most about being a cosmetic doctor?

I love to see the smiles on patients’ faces when they see the results we can achieve. I love the challenge of different faces and different problems. Nothing is ever the same. All treatments are entirely individual to the patient today.

What treatments do you specialise in?

I offer a wide range of treatments from simple botulinum toxin and fillers, through laser resurfacing skin tightening and body contouring with liposuction. I have the immense privilege of sculpting human beings for a living. It’s a lot of fun.

What can patients do to make their non-surgical cosmetic treatments last longer?

It seems trite but the simple things make a difference. Don’t smoke and stay out of the sun. These are the two most important. After that it is sensible to eat a varied diet of wholesome whole foods with plenty of vitamins etc. Also exercise is good for you too. You’ll not only live longer but look younger longer too. Unfortunately most skin creams you can buy over the counter don’t do a lot.

Who are the best candidates for non-surgical laser and injectable treatments?

The most important thing is to have realistic objectives. If you are sixty, we can’t make you look sixteen. Think subtle, think less is more. Think “good for your age”. It is amazing what we can do. Almost nothing is unimprovable. There are no age limits .

What are the most important advice for pre and post treatment care?

Varies hugely with different treatments but for the basics see question above for making results last long

Are the treatments really safe? Are there any risks or problems?

Nothing is without risk but I prefer the non-surgical treatments because they tend to be less risky, less traumatic, less painful and sometimes less cost.

What are the most important considerations for choosing your doctor and skin clinic?

Personal recommendation is king. If you have a friend who has had a lot of treatment with a particular doctor and recommends them then they are probably good. Check up there qualifications and experience. Many doctors work in this business on a part time basis. Whilst some of these are very good, I would always prefer to see someone who does this all the time. Experience is the most important factor. Cost should be irrelevant. (I know it’s not but try….)

What is the attraction and benefits of patients coming to Bali, Indonesia for these treatments?

In many aspects of life, outcomes are influenced by you state of mind. Coming to a wonderful “paradise” resort will allow you to settle into a calm pampering mode which will be good for the spirit as well as the flesh.
