Botox – When The Eyebrow Lift Went Wrong
The most common problems are drooping eyebrows, the inability to move the forehead and even brow asymmetry. And what is the cause of these? Generally, when Botox was injected into areas where they shouldn’t have been. As a leading dermatologist explains it: “When neurotoxins are placed improperly, this can result in facial asymmetry (one side not matching the other), drooping of the eyelids or eyebrow, and double vision. A bad habit of old was to inject entirely too much product into the face, and this resulted in an expressionless face (because the patient was unable to make any movements to express emotions). Thankfully, the injecting trends have steered away from that aesthetic in most markets, and I feel that change is for the better. The goal in neurotoxin administration is to give a more relaxed and youthful appearance, without appearing as though one has done anything.”
The basic rule for injecting Botox when it comes to the areas to be treated: the neurotoxin is used from the cheekbones and above – it covers the crow’s feet, the lines between the eye brows and forehead wrinkles. When the placement hasn’t been done correctly or too much Botox has been injected into the crow’s feet area, it can result in asymmetrical, unnatural smile, drooping brows and when one eyebrow goes up higher than the other when the eyebrows are raised.
Hopefully, you only know it by the example of others…not by yourself. Nonetheless if the latter is the case, we have good news for you: there are still solutions that can be done.
1. Simply wait until the neurotoxin wears off, which is in general from 10 to 12 weeks.
2. Go to a reliable doctor who will have a solution for you. (E.g. Typically, it can be easily fixed by injecting more Botox to the higher brow which will allow it to lower.)
Our advice: don’t bargain shop for your face. Make sure you always chose a beauty clinic with professional, reliable, and certified doctors! It will be worth it.
And last, but not least, we have collected some terrifying examples of bad brow Botox…so you can see how unlucky some folks were, and how lucky you will be when in good hands.
