How To Stay Healthy

During the twentieth century, life expectancy rose dramatically among the world’s wealthiest populations, from around 50 to over 75 years. This increase can be attributed to a number of factors, including improvements in public health, nutrition and medicine. Vaccinations and antibiotics greatly reduced deaths in childhood, and fewer people smoke. During the Roman Empire, Romans had an approximate life expectancy of 22 to 25 years. In 1900, it was approximately 30 years and in 1985 it was about 62 years, just five years short of today’s life expectancy the three big reasons that people are living increasingly longer lives are: Food supply and nutrition, health and hygiene.

However, another important factor is our knowledge of their importance to our health and life expectancy, and of the steps we can take to ensure that we lead a healthy lifestyle. Our access to relevant information has also improved dramatically as a result of scientific research and methods of having more access to this information, for example the Internet.

There are plenty of pages and blogs which are destined to increase awareness and to give us a great amount of tips on how to live a healthier lifestyle. This has a massive role in more and more people being conscious about how to nourish their bodies better, what kind of diets and exercise regimes they should follow, what kind of natural remedies to use and also the importance of food supplements.

Also, alternative medicine and healing methods are much more accepted and plenty of ancient knowledge that had been proved to be working for many centuries have been revealed. Words like Ayurveda, yoga, meditation, acupuncture are not exotic anymore, and they have become part of the common knowledge.

Even in western civilization, many people choose to practice them. More awareness of how to age well by eating a healthy diet, exercising and keeping the brain active are certainly helping more people to enjoy a higher quality of life. There are some genetic factors as well determining how long do we tend to live and how healthy will we be able to remain, but the good news is that it mostly depends on our lifestyles, so we have a lot of control over how it plays out. I strongly believe that one of the key factors is our mindset. Those who lead a happy, fulfilling life and think positively stay much younger and healthier.

Make sure that you are doing your tasks with pleasure, that you smile a lot and appreciate what you have.
