Botox And Excessive Sweating
The wet problem
Women, are you sick and tired of getting sweaty armpits? Do you throw away shirt after shirt because of those gross yellow sweat stains that ruin your clothes? Women and sweaty armpits are not a good combination. The goal of every woman is to avoid this at all cost, especially when in public. No one wants to be caught with sweat marks under her arms. It’s embarrassing. It’s uncomfortable. Not only that, but it’s time to get rid of it once and for all with Botox to control it. Excessive sweating is actually a medical condition called hyperhidrosis. The body’s sweat glands produce more moisture than normal, and it may happen on the face, hands, feet, and armpits. It is an embarrassing condition for many people, and some will do all they can to avoid going out in public because of the excessive sweating.
Excessive sweating can be a very embarrassing thing. If you work in an office environment, and you find that you are drenched in sweat, and you are the only one, you may have a problem. This can be treated. You don’t have to go through your work day being embarrassed and having co-workers look at you funny, because you are wet with sweat. In addition, sweat smells. You cannot hide the smell of perspiration and when you are in a meeting and covered in sweat it can make for a terrible day. Problems like this require more serious treatments, and no matter which kind of deodorant you use, nothing will help without one.
Botox for excessive sweating
Botox is a protein called Botulinum toxin type A. Botox is well-known to be good for removing wrinkles, but it can also be used for excessive sweating. The Botox will act by blocking the actions of the nerves which are responsible for supplying the endocrine glands. These glands are what cause the body to produce sweat. A small amount will be used to block the nerve endings so excessive sweating no longer occurs. It will not stop sweating altogether, but block many of the glands. This treatment will work for up to 12 weeks for some people. It will then wear off and require another treatment.
How the treatment works
When you receive a Botox treatment for excessive sweating, a fine needle will be used. The needle will be placed under the skin in many areas evenly around the skin approximately in 15 different areas. This treatment, given under the armpits, only takes around 30 minutes. The skin under the armpit area is very thin, so the doctor can apply numbing cream before to make it less painful. The needles are very thin a barely felt, you will feel slight stinging only.
Results
You will notice a decrease in the amount you sweat within a week of the treatment. Everybody is different. One person may notice immediate improvements, while another may not notice improvements for a week or two. After, you can go through a normal day at work like everyone else without saturating your suit with the annoying patches. A treatment like this is entirely non-invasive, comfortable, and only takes less than an hour.
