Key takeaway
Forehead lines, frown lines and crow’s feet soften, while your face keeps its expression.
Your doctor uses genuine Botox®, dosed muscle by muscle, and can treat several areas in one visit.
Is it right for you?
- Are an adult with expression lines to soften
- Want to look like yourself, with softer lines
- Want to start early, as prevention
Not during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or with an infection near the injection area or certain neuromuscular conditions.
Quieter muscles, softer lines
Every smile and squint tightens the muscles beneath and folds the skin, and over the years the lines become more noticeable.
Botox by Allergan is a prescription medicine containing onabotulinumtoxinA, and in 2026 we received the BOTOX Platinum Award.
Your doctor places small amounts in chosen muscles, where Botox blocks the signal from the nerve, so the muscle pulls less and the skin above lies smoother. The effect is temporary.
Where it can be used Forehead lines, Frown lines, Crow’s feet, Bunny lines, Chin dimpling, Gummy smile

Before and after your visit

Before
- Tell your doctor what you take, including blood thinners and aspirin.
- Mention any botulinum toxin or filler treatment in the last four months.
- Avoid alcohol the day before, as it can increase bruising.
- Arrive with clean skin and little makeup on the treatment area.
- Mention injected antibiotics, muscle relaxants, sleeping medication and allergy or cold medicines.
- Keep taking prescribed medicine unless the doctor who prescribed it says otherwise.
The day
Before the first injection, your doctor watches you frown, smile and raise your eyebrows to see where each line forms. Treatment itself takes 10 to 15 minutes. Most people feel a brief pinch, and numbing cream is there if you want it.
The first two weeks
- First 4 to 6 hours
- Stay upright, and move your face gently: smile, frown and squint.
- First 24 hours
- No alcohol, hard exercise or cold plunges, and no swimming in a pool or the sea.
- 24 to 48 hours
- No saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga or hot baths, and no pressure on your face, from tight hats, goggles or lying face down.
- Days 1 to 3
- Swelling and redness improve. A mild headache or a heavy feeling in the forehead can come, and passes.
- Days 4 to 7
- Any bruise fades, and the lines begin to soften.
- Up to two weeks
- Movement can look a little uneven while the effect settles, so allow two weeks before you decide how it looks.
No facials, deep tissue massage or other pressure on the treated areas for at least 7 days. Gentle skincare, with SPF 50 or higher every day.
Then
- Do not rub, press or massage the treated area for the rest of the day.
- No strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms or intense heat for 24 to 48 hours.
- Delay facials and facial massage until your doctor says.
- Contact us if anything unexpected develops afterwards.
- Stay upright afterwards for as long as your doctor advises.

Questions people ask
It works best on lines made by movement. Lines from lost volume, looser skin or sun damage may need another treatment, or a combination.
No, Botox relaxes selected muscles, and filler adds volume or structure under the skin. Your doctor can combine them, or add skin boosters or laser, and sets the timing.
Yes, your doctor asks how much movement you would like to keep, then softens the lines you choose without taking it all away.
Repeats are usually at least 90 days apart, and each treatment is a single session. Movement comes back gradually as the effect wears off.
