The Experience
Infrared Sauna Therapy
Step into the gentle warmth of our private infrared sauna in Bali. Unlike a traditional sauna, infrared technology uses radiant heat to warm the body at a lower surrounding temperature.
Your 20-minute session encourages perspiration while providing quiet time to relax, recharge and ease the feeling of tired or tense muscles.

The Therapy
How It Works
An infrared sauna uses infrared energy to create radiant heat. This differs from a traditional sauna, which primarily heats the surrounding air to a much higher temperature.
The sauna is preheated to approximately 110°F to 130°F, or 43°C to 54°C, and should not exceed 140°F or 60°C. Because the surrounding temperature is lower than in many traditional saunas, some guests find the experience more comfortable.
As your body becomes warmer, your heart rate may rise and you begin to perspire. These are normal short-term responses to heat. The experience can feel similar to gentle physical activity, although sitting in a sauna does not provide the wider health benefits of exercise.
Sweating helps regulate body temperature. However, claims that infrared saunas remove stored toxins, produce significant weight loss or cure health conditions are not supported by strong clinical evidence. Any immediate weight change is mainly caused by fluid loss and returns after rehydration.
Your Experience
What to Expect
Your session begins with a short consultation to check your health, medications, hydration and experience with heat.
You will relax in a private infrared sauna for up to 20 minutes. A towel is provided, and the temperature or session length can be adjusted according to your comfort.
You will gradually feel warmer and begin to perspire. The experience should feel relaxing, not overwhelming. Leave the sauna immediately and alert the team if you feel dizzy, weak, nauseous, short of breath or unwell.
Afterwards, take a few moments to cool down slowly and drink water. Most guests can continue their day without downtime.

Important Considerations
Infrared sauna therapy may not be suitable if you have unstable heart disease, very high or low blood pressure, a recent heart attack, severe aortic stenosis, kidney disease, impaired sweating, dehydration, fever or an active illness. You should also seek medical advice before treatment if you are pregnant, prone to fainting, have reduced heat sensitivity or take medication that affects circulation, blood pressure, hydration or temperature regulation.
Infrared sauna therapy should not replace medical treatment for pain, cardiovascular conditions or other health concerns.
Possible effects include dehydration, dizziness, headache, nausea, low blood pressure, weakness, overheating or temporary skin irritation. Leave the sauna immediately if you feel uncomfortable or unwell.
Drink water afterwards and allow your body to cool gradually. Avoid moving directly from intense heat into another extreme-temperature treatment unless the team confirms that it is suitable for you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about your treatment and what to expect.
How is an infrared sauna different from a traditional sauna?
A traditional sauna mainly heats the surrounding air. An infrared sauna uses radiant energy to warm the body at a lower air temperature, which some people find more comfortable.
How hot does the infrared sauna get?
Cocoon’s infrared sauna is preheated to approximately 110°F to 130°F, or 43°C to 54°C. The temperature should not exceed 140°F or 60°C.
How long does a session take?
A session lasts up to 20 minutes. First-time guests or those less accustomed to heat may begin with a shorter session.
Does sweating remove toxins?
Sweating primarily helps regulate body temperature and consists mainly of water and electrolytes. Your liver and kidneys perform most of the body’s natural waste-processing functions.
Can infrared sauna therapy help me lose weight?
Any immediate weight reduction is mainly due to temporary water loss through sweating. An infrared sauna does not replace regular movement, balanced nutrition or evidence-based weight management.
What should I do after my session?
Cool down gradually, drink water and rest briefly if needed. Avoid alcohol and further intense heat if you feel tired, light-headed or dehydrated.
