Familiar vitamins, a newer ingredient
Vitamin C plays a part in normal collagen formation, immunity and antioxidant protection, A and E in normal skin and cell function, the B complex in energy and nerves. The saline hydrates you.
The secretome is what stem cells release in culture, and it can hold proteins, growth factors, cytokines and extracellular vesicles such as exosomes. Their role in cell signalling is still being studied.

Your visit
Your clinician explains the secretome’s source, contents, manufacture, testing, regulatory status, risks and the limits of the evidence.
With your consent, a small cannula goes into a vein, usually in your arm.
The drip runs slowly for about 45 minutes (at Legian, beside the lit salt-brick wall), and we keep an eye on you.
- Tell us what you take, including supplements, and about any kidney or heart condition.
- Say if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Say if you are having cancer treatment or take blood thinners.
- Eat something and drink water before you come.
- Expect a small dressing on your arm, and a little tenderness or bruising that passes.
- Drink water afterwards and keep the rest of the day easy.
- Contact us if anything unexpected develops afterwards.

Not during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and tell us first about liver or immune conditions, active infection, past cancer or retinoid supplements.
Afterwards
Some feel better within days and others after a few weeks, and the effect can last three to six months. Results vary.
The secretome has not been shown to repair organs, regenerate cells or reverse skin ageing. Side effects are rare, and a low-grade fever, if it comes, is usually brief. Other reactions are possible, as secretome products differ.
