THE TREATMENT
How Does Balinese Santi Signature Massage Work?
Your experience begins with a warm wheat pack placed around the neck, allowing comforting heat to ease the body into relaxation. Your feet are gently cleansed with salt before the hands-on massage begins.
The therapist prepares the body with stretching, pressing and rhythmic compression. Warm bamboo sticks are then rolled and moved across the legs and feet. Their smooth shape and gentle warmth help prepare tight muscles before flowing oil massage techniques are introduced.
Across the back, two warm river stones are used to apply soothing heat and focused pressure. The stones are followed by a traditional oil massage using long, flowing movements to work across the back, shoulders and areas of tension.
You will then turn over and relax beneath a soft silk eye mask. The front of the treatment begins with foot massage and gentle leg stretching, followed by flowing oil massage across the legs.
The arms and hands are prepared with stretching and pressure techniques before being massaged with oil. A gentle stomach massage follows, although this can be left out if you prefer.
The experience continues with a Marma-inspired head massage. Gentle pressure is applied to selected points around the scalp and head to encourage relaxation. To finish, you will be guided into a seated position for focused massage across the neck, shoulders and upper back.
The gentle tone of a Tibetan singing bowl completes the ritual, bringing the experience to a calm and peaceful close.
