THE TREATMENT
How Does Tui Na Shiatsu Work?
Tui Na Shiatsu combines two traditional forms of Asian bodywork. Tui Na has its roots in Chinese wellness practices, while Shiatsu uses Japanese pressure techniques. Both approaches work with pathways traditionally known as meridian lines.
Your therapist uses the hands, fingers, thumbs and palms to apply rhythmic pressure across selected areas of the body. Kneading and rolling movements help warm the muscles, while focused acupressure is applied to areas of tension.
Gentle stretching and joint movements may also be introduced to encourage flexibility and release stiffness. The rhythm, pressure and techniques are adapted to your body, with more attention given to areas that feel particularly tight or restricted.
Within traditional Eastern wellness practices, these techniques are used to encourage the movement of Qi and restore balance. The result is a physically focused yet calming treatment designed to leave the body feeling looser, lighter and more settled.

The Sensory Experience
Steady pressure and rhythmic movements create a grounding, restorative experience. Deep kneading alternates with rolling, compression and gentle stretching, allowing areas of tension to release gradually. The treatment feels focused and energising while maintaining a calm, balanced rhythm.
Your Treatment
What to Expect
Your therapist will begin with a short consultation to understand your preferred pressure, areas of tension and any mobility concerns.
During the treatment, the therapist may use the fingers, thumbs, palms and hands to apply pressure along different areas of the body. Kneading, rolling and stretching techniques are introduced according to your comfort and individual needs.
Some acupressure points may feel sensitive, but the treatment should not cause sharp pain. Let your therapist know if you would like the pressure or stretching adjusted.
