Legian, Ubud and Canggu, inside and out.
Most people like to see a room before they walk into it. These are ours, from the reception desks to the treatment beds, photographed as they are.

Legian, on Sunset Road
At dusk the timber lattice on the front of the building turns gold. Inside, stepping stones cross river pebbles to bright treatment rooms with frosted glass walls, and one room has a wall of Himalayan salt bricks, lit from within. We call it the salt room.

In the lounge, a green rice field lies on the other side of the glass. The tub chairs are pale pink. A stone path runs between rough concrete walls and soft curtains, towards a warm light at the far end.

Here the light does the decorating, from the sculptural chandelier over the curved white desk to the pendant lamps on a pale ribbed wall. Look up when you reach the spiral staircase.
