Lighter lids, less puffiness
The surgery takes away or repositions the loose skin and the pads of fat that weigh down the upper lid or puff out beneath the eye. Your eyes can look less tired.
Some people come for how their eyes look, and some because a heavy upper lid gets in the way of comfort and sight. Your doctor plans for a result that fits the balance of your face and does not look overdone.
Where it can be used
- Upper eyelids
- Lower eyelids
- Full eye area

Your visit
At the first visit your doctor listens to what you would like to change and asks about your health. Then they examine each lid closely. If surgery suits you, they explain the approach, then the recovery and its risks, before you decide.
- Tell your doctor what you take, including blood-thinning supplements, and stop nothing unless they say so.
- Mention smoking, dry eyes, previous eye surgery, allergies and any other medical condition.
- Keep to the wound care, activity limits and follow-up visits your doctor sets.
- Please contact us straight away if anything worries you while you recover.
Is it right for you?
- Heavy or hooded upper eyelids
- Loose skin on the lids
- Puffiness or bags under the eyes
- Time set aside for recovery
An eye condition or a health problem can mean waiting, a further check or another treatment, and your doctor will say which.
Results
Expect swelling and bruising early in recovery, and the lids can feel tight or dry for a while. The result shows as the swelling settles.
It lasts a long time, though your face goes on ageing. Results vary, and your doctor says what to expect for your eyes.
